everytime I buy a pot of herbs from the grocery store, they end up dying. according to my mom-in-law, you're actually supposed to take em out and plant them in a real pot with real soil....

I never knew... RIP my many basil plants that never had the soil it needed.

They are great to give to girls.

They certainly smell nice too! Trader Joe's has a nice (and affordable) selection.

The only plant that I'm able to keep alive is my orchid. But it's BEAUTIFUL, so I don't mind. :)

Rabbits and Deer like my mom's garden where she planted lettuce, spinach, and perilla. I sent her a link to a ny times article of people protecting their garden with air guns. My mom was horrified, and just added more fencing.

Our cat likes to eat the fresh catnip that we plant in our garden.

Blooms in all their splendor,
Bending in surrender,
Then the symphony with majesty
Soars higher in triumph,
With petals flashing,
Color splashing,
Swirling, unfurling,
And caught in the whirl
Of this wonderful waltz of the flow'rs.

What better way to celebrate spring than with this festive musical affair!
