Oh so decadent.......

I flatter myself to think this particular blog post on Top 10 Places to get Hot Chocolate was aimed specifically at me.

I need to try EVERY SINGLE PLACE on that list, and in the comments below the post. It gives me so much foodie pleasure to read that someone else has a problem when a place makes hot chocolate with powder or syrup- there's nothing awesome about that. I want to spend my money on something that interests my taste buds, that's all I ask!

Any Hot Chocolates from the list that you can attest to? I'm pretty sure I'll be heading to Stone Mill Bakery first since that's super close to me. OR perhaps I should spend my $5 gift certificate to Starbuck's on their hot chocolate. I didn't know they had a noteworthy option.

UPDATE
Check out my posts on Starbucks and Stone Mill Bakery's hot chocolate.

I think Starbucks uses a mix for their signature hot chocolate, but their original chocolate drink, Chantico (discontinued) might have used chocolate or at least chocolate syrup.

I recommend Mayorga Coffee's hot chocolate. SO GOOD! I think they even have a roasted marshmallow flavor. I guess it's not a Baltimore company, but there's a cart at BWI so I'm counting that!

Beth - A couple of months ago I went to Pitango and was so tempted to order the hot chocolate, but I had come specifically for gelato, so I ended up choosing that. The whole time I had the dessert, I knew I made the wrong choice. Your comment confirms it! Looks like I'll have to go back soon and make the right choice this time!

The Minx - I remember Chantico! I remember not being able to have a lot of it because of how rich and thick it was. I'm pretty sure I liked it though, just wouldn't order it all the time.....hence why it's discontinued :)

Melanie - Oh I love Mayorga in Silver Spring! I'm so excited you told me about their Hot Chocolate because I actually always get their coffee when I wait at the Southwest terminal, now I can try something different on their menu! Yay!!!
