Restaurant Ramblings

Do you keep a list of restaurants you want to try?  I have one and it's long and I keep adding to it, and I feel like I hardly ever cross anything off!  Dan and I usually decide to go to a restaurant pretty spontaneously and therefore we don't base it on my list, but on proximity, which is why I post so many Baltimore County restaurants!

The one restaurant that has been on my list for so long, and that I repeatedly try to remind myself I want to go to, is Ze Mean Bean Cafe.  I have never eaten there, but I've been meaning to for about 5 million years (aka 2 years).  It's literally been on the top of my list to try, and yet for some reason I just never get around to it.  I really need to make a point of going there. Has anyone ever been?  What should I get!?!?!?!  I hope this 2 year anticipation won't lead me to disappointment hahaha

Does anyone else have a restaurant like that?  One that you've been so excited to try, but for some reason just keeps on getting looked over?

I have a huge list of restaurants tagged "to try" on my yelp account- many I've gotten from your website! Now I just need time to try them all...

Yay!
I know, I need the time AND the money to try them all too :) That's why sometimes Dan and I just give up and go to Chipotle hahahahaha. What restaurant is next on your list to try?

I've got a pretty long list of restaurants, too, and will finally be crossing The Brewer's Art off the list tomorrow.

As for Ze Mean Bean, read my review for suggestions. I've been there dozens of times over the years and can definitely recommend the hriby dip (if you like mushrooms), the red beet borscht (a childhood favorite and ZMB does it right), and to get a taste of Polish/Czech cuisine, get the Slavic sampler.

Minx - yes!!! I am glad the Slavic Sampler is good, because I REALLY wanted to get that. Also, I love mushrooms, so thanks for recommending the dip! Have fun at Brewer's. I've only been there for drinks and the yummy fries, so I'll look forward to reading your review of the food

LOL my list is never ending and there is not enough time in a week to get to places I want to try! We should plan to hit one up together!

They have some good warm drinks (spiced wine, hot cider, some warm infused vodkas) so don't feel too bad if you don't get to go until winter.

The slavic sampler is a good recommendation. The short ribs are also really good though.

We've only been a handful of times, but we've had good experiences every time. Hopefully Anonymous will take you soon!

Also, we definitely have a list. Some of the places are a little too expensive (Charleston), and some we just haven't been to yet (Brewer's Art). Baltimore really does have a lot of great options.

i looooooooooooooooove short ribs!!!!

Interestingly enough, the expensive restaurant on my list isn't the Charleston, but Kali's Court. I've heard amazing things about that place.
