Friday Morning Haiku

After meal planning
For breakfast, lunch, and dinner
I have a full fridge

Apparently I buy too much.
This week for breakfast I had my overnight oats, of course
For lunch, I took a veggie wrap (whole wheat wrap, edamame hummus, carrots, lettuce, cucumber and sprouts), some cherries or grapes and then my own homemade fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt (aka 2 tsp of jam topped with ~1/3 cup plain lowfat yogurt).
For dinner I had a variety of things planned - tortellini one night, ground turkey curry the next (pictured with flatbread), chicken sausage pasta another time.

It was a great week, eating-wise, but I really think I need to evaluate my portion sizes because I have a whole fridge full of stuff that technically should be all gone by tomorrow.

Oh well....all in good time.

Do you meal plan?  If so, do you usually just do it for dinner or for all meals?

Oh your meals sound delicious! We plan our meals but always save one night for leftovers and then I usually try to make my lunches use the rest of the ingredients (leftovers, using veggies for salads or wraps, etc). Have a great weekend!

My meal planning abilities stink. I usually plan one thing to cook for my blog. And sometimes at lunchtime, I'll start thinking about what I want for dinner. But beyond that, I just buy what moves me in the grocery store or farmers market, and then try to figure out something to do with it. I'm not very organized with my meals!

I only cook on the weekends and usually make enough to feed 4-6 people. Since there are only 2 of us, the rest goes into the fridge for Neal to utilize in the meals he cooks during the week.

We buy lots of food, but very little if any of it goes to waste.

Simply Life and Minx - Clearly you guys are MUCH more organized than me.

Jen - that's EXACTLY what I've been doing...but I was so bored with my meals that I thought meal planning would introduce more variety in my life. It did that, but it also introduced way too much food aahaha
